The Shipowners’ Club

The Brief

The Shipowners’ Club sought a compelling video to introduce its values and key services, highlighting how it supports Members and brokers, from disciplined underwriting and bespoke cover to specialist claims handling and loss prevention. By balancing its reputation for reliability with its forward-thinking initiatives – such as a self-service broker portal and Plain Language Policies – the video would position the Club as modern, proactive, and supportive.

The Approach

We developed a structured, engaging corporate video using a combination of sophisticated animation and curated stock footage. The visual style mirrored the gradients and clean design elements of the Club’s refreshed branding, ensuring a cohesive and polished presentation.

A standout feature of the video was the use of 3D elements integrated seamlessly with footage. This technique added depth and visual interest, transforming standard clips into dynamic, engaging visuals. The process involved creating realistic shadows and matching textures to achieve a convincing 3D effect, which was crucial for maintaining the polished and professional tone. 

Each section of the video highlighted key areas of support, emphasising unique features such as the Club’s selective approach to deductibles on claims fees, comprehensive Legal Cost Cover, bespoke claims handling, and innovative tools like P&I Online.

The closing sequence featured 3D animated waves flowing across the screen to reveal the Club’s logo—a modern nod to its maritime heritage that tied the narrative together.

The Outcome

The final video delivers a clear and concise overview of the Shipowners’ Club, underscoring its leadership in the small and specialist vessel sector. It is acting as the centrepiece for the Club’s 2025 renewal campaign, and will be used across social media, presentations, and events. By effectively balancing tradition with innovation, the video captures the Club’s unique ability to ensure peace of mind for its Members and brokers worldwide.
