FEDIMA

The Brief

Fedima, the European trade association representing bakery, patisserie, and confectionery ingredients manufacturers, sought to raise awareness of its 2024-2029 manifesto with an engaging animation. The goal was to present a concise version of the manifesto for use in meetings with European policymakers, on social media and on their website. The animation needed to highlight the value of the bakery sector and its needs within the Brussels policy sphere, and encourage action to support a sustainable and competitive industry.

Our Approach

We crafted an informative yet inspiring animation that used the universal language of food to engage policymakers. To highlight how deep-rooted baked goods are in European culture, the animation opens with visuals of a rich variety of pastries – croissants, baguettes, pretzels, waffles – and transitions to a scene of a shared meal. Coffee cups clink over a table, capturing the warmth and ritual of breaking bread. This storytelling grounded the message in the familiar, reinforcing the essential role of bakery products in daily life and tradition.

To illustrate the seven key policy asks, we developed an ingredients analogy. Each ingredient was visually added to a mixing bowl, symbolising the essential elements needed to support the industry.

The animation closes with dough rising in an oven, mirroring the sector’s potential to grow sustainably with the right policies in place.

A clear, uplifting female voice over guided the audience through the animation, and it was coupled with an inspiring music track to create a positive and future focused feel.

The Outcome

The final animation delivers Fedima’s key messages in a compelling and digestible way, effectively positioning the association’s manifesto within the Brussels policy landscape.
