The brief

After a competitive selection process, Senate Media was chosen to produce an animation to highlight the key points of the CIIA’s flagship annual report on risks in the auditing sector.

The brief was to create a video of around 2 minutes, with no voiceover, and following a microscopic theme to tie in with the printed materials produced for the report, in recognition of the coronavirus pandemic.

Approach

Although the theme was already set, moodboards played a big role in narrowing down the type of visuals the client was seeking.

Having established the direction we were able to set about creating an initial set of concept frames, to show the client how we intended to bring their story to life. 

Our proposed storyboard and visuals involved using establishing imagery of a microscope, and then proceeding to look at the detail of the report as microscopic slides. The colours and backdrop were dark and moody, to bring a sense of drama to the findings.

With only minor revisions to the colour palette we were able to swiftly move to the production of the video.

With no voiceover, the choice of music was key to the overall presentation; and to complement the mood of the visuals a dramatic track was selected and carefully edited in time with the visuals.

The result

The end result was a video that was very well received by the client’s members, and described by the client as one of their best videos yet.

We received a truly executive service comprising speedy turnarounds and flexible feedback windows. The end result? One of our best videos yet!
