To explain their Greener Homes report, we were commissioned by RIBA to create this 2 minute animation in 2020.

Simplifying the report, the animation explains RIBA’s position on retrofitting and energy efficiency, highlighting the need for tax system reforms in incentivising efficiency changes in households. The report argues that addressing energy efficiency in buildings is crucial to reaching net zero.

This animation had a wide audience, but mostly specifically wanted to target government and RIBA members. The aim of the report, and therefore the animation, was to influence Government to create and implement a National Retrofit Strategy, changing stamp duties to penalise energy inefficient homes and bring forward planned spending on energy efficiency. For RIBA members, the animation was to emphasise the importance of a sustainable built environment, as well as build greater understanding of RIBA’s lobbying work.
