CPE – Information for Politicians

The Brief:

Community Pharmacy England (CPE) tasked us with creating an animation aimed at reaching time-poor MPs with essential messages at the start of the parliamentary term. The goal was to inform and educate new MPs on the vital role of community pharmacies, the challenges they face, and to encourage attendance at CPE’s parliamentary event.

The Approach:

The animation focused on three key objectives:

Introduce CPE and its role in representing over 10,000 community pharmacies across England.

Highlight the sector’s expectations from the new Government, both for pharmacies and for patient care.

Convey the critical financial and operational pressures pharmacies are under and the urgent need for support.

We utilised the full colour palette of CPE’s bright, modern brand to create an eye-catching animation. Movement is slick and pacey, and a positive voice over is coupled with an upbeat music track to create an inspiring feel. We incorporated text on-screen throughout, so that the animation would work equally well when viewed without sound at events and on social media.

We scripted a narrative that emphasises the indispensable role of community pharmacies in providing accessible healthcare across the country. Incorporating powerful statistics, for example, that over 24 million people are on repeat prescriptions and 1.1 billion prescriptions are dispensed annually, and that the sector has the potential to save up to 10 million GP appointments annually. We also highlighted the severe financial squeeze the sector is feeling, with operational pressures, a 30% real-terms funding cut since 2015, and the closure of 1,300 pharmacies.

The Result:

The concise and engaging video is serving as a powerful tool, providing MPs with a digestible overview of the challenges and opportunities facing community pharmacies. It’s a great example of using animation to effectively reach busy decision-makers.
