Terrence Higgins Trust – Mpox Series
Brief
Our brief was to create a series of explainer animations for the Terrence Higgins Trust about the Mpox virus. Each animation was to inform the viewer on a separate issue, explaining what Mpox is, the symptoms and treatments, transmission and protection, and also vaccine information.
Approach
The aim was to deliver serious messaging in a positive, engaging and upbeat manner. The Terrence Higgins Trust wanted to get across that people shouldn’t be scared, but need to be informed.
To achieve this, the messaging was kept concise and informal, supported by bold on screen text throughout, to ensure the key details were clear for the viewer.

A youthful male voice artist was chosen to deliver the key messages in order to resonate with their target audience of young gay and bisexual men.
In keeping with the Terrence Higgins brand, vibrant colours and dynamic transitions were used throughout the animations to create an engaging and positive feel.
Result
The animations are currently being used on the Terrence Higgins website as a key piece of content in explaining Mpox. We also created Portuguese and Spanish versions of each animation to ensure the guidance and advice was available to all those in their target audience.
The animations have also been shared on social media and have received a great level of engagement, with over 80,000 views.
