Mental Health Europe
The Brief:
For the third consecutive year, Mental Health Europe entrusted us with crafting a compelling animation for their Pan-European annual event. Aligning with the 2023 theme of “Mentally Healthy Communities”, the video tackles misconceptions, stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health. Its purpose is to instigate open conversations that foster the development of mentally healthy communities.
The Approach:
The broad target audience, spanning parents, families, children, students, care-givers, educators, employees as well as employers, influencers, policymakers and various stakeholders necessitated a creative approach. To ensure resonance across diverse demographics, the animation features characters of varying ages, backgrounds and ethnicities. Vibrant primary colours were used to represent diverse skin tones, aligning with the MHE campaigns style and palette. A ribbon weaves through the animation, leading the viewer through the narrative, and symbolising interconnectedness within communities.
A youthful female voice with a light European accent was used for the voice over and this paired with the positive and inspiring music track lends a sense of hopefulness and clarity to MHE’s message.
The Results:
The result was an impactful animation with a dynamic tone that reflects a movement towards better mental health and the flourishing of individuals and communities. The animation received significant online success amassing over 143k views on Twitter/X and generating substantial engagement both here and on LinkedIn.
