Three things you didn’t know we did
You probably know us as a video production company, but we’re constantly expanding our remit at Senate Media and taking on new and challenging projects. Here’s a look at some of the things we’ve tackled over the last year, that you probably don’t know we did.
Translations and transcreation
We have worked on a number of transcreation projects in the last 12 months. Transcreation is the process of taking a video created in one language, and recreating it in another language while maintaining the message – something a direct translation doesn’t necessarily achieve.
We have been working with the Port of Dover to highlight their importance within the Brexit debate. To help deal with foreign press interest, plus meetings with overseas stakeholders, we created versions of our original animation in French, German, Italian and Dutch.
We have also been working with the Academy of Medical Sciences on their Clinical Research Capacity projects, translating these animations into French, Spanish and Portuguese.
Microsites and interactive graphics
We were commissioned by the Institution for Civil Engineers to create a microsite for Project 13 – a key project for ICE introducing a new infrastructure delivery model.
This included creating a number of videos and documents, as well as the microsite itself.
But there were two more complex elements within the microsite. The centrepiece was an interactive graphic to showcase the Transformation Roadmap, featuring pop-outs containing links and guidance material for organisations seeking to embrace the new delivery model.
Secondly, there was a four-part interactive questionnaire, which like the rest of the project, was designed by ourselves and built from the ground up using WordPress.
Live streaming
As our article on video trends suggests, Live Streaming is only going to get bigger in 2019.
And we’re well placed to meet the predicted rise in demand going into 2019. Our work this year included a commission for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and three partner organisations to stream their event live from the Conservative party conference.
Shown over four different YouTube channels (five if you include our own), the event featured a speech by the housing minister Damian Hinds.
